Early 911 muffler removal?

Hello again! Last night I tried to pull the muffler out of the back of my 1970 911 to do the motor mounts and install timing chain tensioner stops. Some numb nutts put the muffler strap bolts on the back side of the muffler behind the bumper. I got the heat exchanger bolts out no sweat, and it looks like two bolts on the engine mount will drop the muffler. Is this true or what?
Surprisingly, I already got the engine mounts in the car with the muffler still installed. Any help will be appreciated. I'm a 928 guru, 911s are not my forte.

Pop the plastic plugs out of the bumperettes and pull them off. They are held on with 2 hex bolts on the top and bottom. then pull the rear license panel. Don't forget the sheet metal screws in the lower mating edge to the side bumpers.

Then, You should have easy access to the muffler straps.

The engine mount will not come out easily as you have to slide it backwards pretty far to clear its mounting studs. I doubt you have room with the muffler in place.

Cool, nice idea. I noticed the bumperette allen bolts and I knew the rear panel comes off, I just wasn't sure how to do it. The license panel is bent too so that will give me a chance to straighten it up while I have it off. The muffler is very close to the license panel. So hopefully what you're explaining doesn't include getting behind the license panel. I'll check it out later tonight.
Thanks

No, it's all very easy. Probably take you 10 minutes max to get the rear panel off.
