1972 Fuel Pump wiring routing: Brain Fade

Its been 10 long years since I dropped the engine out and stripped the engine bay. I am ready to reconnect the red green wire in the engine bay to the fuel pump but can not remember the correct routing for the wire to the pump. I am fabricating a new wire with a ground lug and spade connection for the engine bay end and a bosch female plug for the pump end. Question is, does the wire follow the fuel line through the corner of the engine tin sealing rubber or does it route forward of the crossmember?
