Will a SC Fuel Dist fit a 2.7s

Will it bolt straight on? They look similar... I need a fuel distributor and it will be easier getting a 3.0 one in these parts.

Any mods needed to do this?

According to my parts reference guide, they are a different part #. I couldn't find anything saying you could swap one for the other. I imagine they have different delivery rates and such (?).

Fire an e-mail to JW, I'm sure he would know if they are inter changable.

So....

what if I change it anyway? I am aware that they are a different part no. but they look physically the same - I'm wondering if anyone knows what will happen if I change it to an SC. I appreciate your point about different delivery rates - it might end up so rich I can't adjust it... Seems odd that they are a different part at al considering how adjustable the 2.7one appears to be.

Cheers anyhow.

It should work....but I don`t know how well. I believe people swap them (3.0 to 2.7) to get around the Lamba circuit on the later SC`s.

Why don't you just get your 2.7 distributor rebuilt. If you buy a used one (which you already have) there's no guarantee that the "new" used one won't have some other problem.
Try KMI Fuel Injection inthe UK for rebuilds.

Also make sure you actually do need a fuel distributor first.
If the car has some miles on it, then probably the injectors and o-rings also need work or replacing.

because...

I can't afford a rebuilt one at the moment

and...
It wil cost me approx £100 to get the fuel dist tested properly with the rest of the system - then If this is the problem I will have to buy one.. double cost

whereas if I buy a second hand one and it works I've saqved money that I don't have

If it doesn't work then the fuel dist I have bought must be OK and I can sell it on - no cost at all this way

Also the chances of the fuel dist I buy having the same problem as mine are extremely slim as no-one on this board appears to have had the same problem

Logic? - Well maybe to some. But cheers anyway

Regards

Tony
