Hello All,
Have a 1969 E. Went to open locked glove box to realize the lock won't turn anymore with "yes," the correct key. Had lock smith come to house, he said I must have pulled key out in wrong position or spring inside is possibly broken. Even after 30 minutes of trying with multiple little tools jammed into lock he gave up. Went underneath dash to locate any possible screws to loosen box and lower but that did not work. Any idea's short of ripping the dash out? Thank you very much... Mike in Northern California. |

Mike,
If you remove the knee pad, that will give you access to the screws that hold the door on. If that doesn't help undo the strap, and you can remove the box it's self, giving you better access to the lock. With the box removed you will be able to get to the nut that holds the lock, if you undo that it will give you enough wiggle room to get the door off. Hope that helps? Tony

Tony,
Thank you, will do a little more work on her and see what happens. Will look at both options. Will let you know how it pans out. Thank you, Mike |
