Note that some of the things that you mention are only available via carfax, and its against forum rules to ask others to run a carfax for you.

I figured cf might be a little unethical that's why I didn't specifically mention it.
I thought there may be other tricks of the trade.

I decide to try cf for my '89 after I owned it for about a year. Wasn't very accurate.
