Clockwise or counter clockwise question...

I'm installing a strut brace and I need to unscrew this bolt:

Which way do I turn to loosen it? Clock or counter clock wise?

Counter clockwise to loosen.

Yup -- lefty-loosey.

If that's the actual brace you're going to install, you might want to consider modifying the bracket so the strut top isn't captive (but you probably already knew that). I've seen some, ah, interesting pictures of Weltmeister brackets that haven't had this modification done . . .

Good luck

If that allan bolt is spinning it's because the nut underneath needs to be held it in place. That is if this is happening to you?

No, I'm installing the Elephant Racing Triangulated strut brace

Yeap, raise the car and place socket underneath and remove Lefty Loosey.

Align with the other bolts then go back to that one to secure it when you are ready.

Would be a good idea to weld it on.
