Hello / Bump.

I have some minor leaks on my SC. The green and blue ones are clear what I need to fix, but.

1) Oil is gathering at the bottom of the black bracket in this yellow box and then running along the arrow. Do I have the same leak as the OP ?
2) What's the bolt in the red box? It is "damp" with oil, but only some of the time?

Yellow box location would reflect the same leak as this original post.

Red box location is the oil tank drain. The round plate with drain plug under the engine case will only drain oil within the case. Most of the oil is in the oil tank - hence drain plug there.

As a newbie - you could learn quite a bit by browsing the DIY articles on this site - or buying Wayne's 101 Projects for your 911. The book covers the basics of maintenance, like oil changes, etc.

Yep the car is all new to me, not had its 1st service yet since I bought it.
I'll re-torque / replace the oil tank bolt later today.

Whats the actual name of the part in the yellow box? Engine mount/bracket? Difficult to spot in the 911 shop websites...

You have a lot of oil in that tank so I would not touch it until you are ready for your first service. It is going to come out fast and you are not going to need a bolt. Just a new gasket. Don't drive yourself crazy stopping seepage , none of this is serious.

The engine bracket is just the lowest point . Go up top and stare down into where your alternator belt its , that is where the leak is originating. To fix that may be tricky as it is either gonna be your crank seal or maybe the IMS cover gasket. Regardless it will mean supporting the engine from underneath and taking off your engine support bracket and mounts. That one you can leave till the nest time the engine is out.

I would spry down there with some engine dregreaser and rinse it out well , see if you can spot in the future where it is originating.
