How to locate ferrule on L cam line prior to install
1. Had leaks after install of non oem left cam line (for Carrera tens).
Line was short ~5mm overall length vs. original line. 2. Got the dealer OEM lines with loose ferrule and nut. Leaks after the following: Compared line to original line and overall length looked good but line appeared to be bent a few degrees more sharply angled at last bend to go into case fitting. After loosely installing the line on the hollow cam nut end, I oriented line to get max length into case fitting but the line did not bottom out in the fitting. Tightened cam end fitting. I slid on the nut and ferrule with cutting edge towards case fitting with the ferrule slid back onto the line far enough to expose a few mm of the cam line. I'm not confident the ferrule stayed up on the line because the ferrule is loose and the line is pointing downward when fiddling with the line orientation and starting the nut -- both of which (in retrospect) could have helped vibrate the ferrule down off the line so the cutting edge was off the cam line. Tightened nut to hand tight + 1/2 turn. Leaks big time. How to keep the ferrule up on the cam line while installing the line and tightening the nut? Maybe a dab of gasket sealer on ferrule end opposite the cutting edge?

I replaced this line a short time ago. I recall the ferrule was fixed to the hard line. it sounds like yours isn't? I bought the line from the host (Cohline, OEM supplier). I installed that end first. try that. I probably tightened it more than you, a tiny bit at a time because the distributor limited clearance (used crow's foot wrench with 3/8 ratchet).
