Another question on an 81 SC - mostly stock.

Is the heat sheild in this picture factory original or are they add on? Were there shields at all from the factory? Either way I think they are a good idea. Any comment or experience on these?

Was there no heat shield from the factory?

This car has these on both sides. I certainly see a benefit on the driver side (next to the cat). The other side I am not so sure....

None from factory.
