Battery Options for '69-'73 911

Can anyone recommend a battery provided and model that fit's in the battery boxes of the 1969-1973 911's, or is a close fit and maybe hangs out of the box slightly? I have called numerous auto parts suppliers locally and they do not even list a battery for this car. HELP!

My solution:

I used a flat braided ground strap to attach to the factory ground point.

Disconnected the crossover positive lead from the battery post clamp.

I made a hold down with some pipe support strap material. Pop riveted a D ring to one end to hook the strap onto the factory hook in the back of the battery box, bent it around the battery and used the stock hold down bolt to attach the other end to the threaded point in the floor of the trunk.

Be sure to put something to cover the positive battery post to prevent an accidental short or arc.

The end sticking out looks like this:

Interstate makes the only direct fit replacement I know of. It is something like 911U. I just got 2 for my car at about $125 a piece. It took about 3 weeks to get them.

If you check in this thread someone got them direct from Interstate for a considerably better price a year or two ago...

+ 1 for Interstate and perfect fit with boxes and original strapping.
I'm only running the one right now. And as previous mentioned there are numerous other options depending if you want to do any customization or quick fixes to make others work.
