Broken head stud defeated

Got down to business today with a Craftsman bolt/screw extractor. Size #2 , part of set 52168. Heat was applied with an acetylene torch in and around the case in the area of the stud. I was able to break it free with just a 1/4 inch ratchet. I made a thread chaser out of a 10mmx1.5 bolt by cutting 4 grooves with a Dremel tool. Worked well for cleaning out the old Loctite. I will replace the remaining Dilivar lowers as soon as the Snap On tool arrives.

Excellent work. Good to see someone thinking on their feet.

I especially like the home made thread chaser.

I like the blue gloves, it's like you are a surgeon doing a stud-ectomy operation.

Good post, now I can see how it is really done.
