My o2 sensor insulator is broke, can I just splice the green incoming wire to the black lead that goes to the o2. Do I need to worry about the windings that were around the green wire in the plastic isolator(RF interference ?) Do Io need to replace?
Here are some pics, Just held the o2 lead in place for pick. Not mounted to bracket. ![]() ![]()

Is the insulator you are referring in the bottom picture being held by your middle and ring finger? When I purchased my car this connector was missing and the O2 sensor was disconnected. I reconnected (by simply splicing the green to the black) but have not been able to acheive a regular voltage from the sensor. Apparently, my problem is due to the location of the sensor within the SS exhaust (it is too far 'downwind'). I just purchased an original exhaust system from another Pelican member that I will be installing to hopefully return the system to normal.
I guess that this is just a long-winded reply to say that I too am curious if these two wires can be spliced together and the sensor operate as designed... ![]()

I called the dealer too and they said on the older ones you could just splice. Newer ones the resisteance and voltage is more critical. I have not done my emission test - so I spliced and hopefully that will do. Seems to run just the same.
