Reviews Needed on VERTEX Auto Engine or Transmission Rebuilds- Vertex Auto Miami.
Anyone have any experience with rebuilding their Porsche engines or transmissions at Vertex Auto in Miami.
This is the same company as Vertex Auto Parts.

Very bad experience. Rip Off. Gilbert the owner claimed that my core tranny had bad ring and pinion so we sent him another set even we were not convinced the original set was bad. I watched my mechanic pack the ring and pinion set and I have the fedex receipt that shows the weight of the r&p set. Gilbert claims he opened the package himself and that the package was not torn, etc. and that it was missing the pinion. He kept my core tranny, did not refund the core charge, and kept two sets of r&p's. Be very aware.

Don't use him.....I had bad experiences with him, along with other Porsche owners here...I don't know how he's still in business.......

I do not know about the Transmission Service, but for me dealing with them is like dealing with Chase Credit Card where I paid the balance in full but ended up with still owing them $1.02 They then stated that I paid this late and raised my rates to 29.2%.

I bought a set of "Rebuilt" Half Shafts from them in the 1990's. When I received them they had more slop and play than the ones I was going to send back to them. I just get a very nervous feeling about them and only buy when it is something I need and no one else has it (About 2 times over the last 15 years.) It is like kissing the head of a snake that a total stranger is holding!

I bought a set of turbo-tie rod ends from them. They came without 2 washers, that my shop had to provide.

Also, their prices listed are cash. Credit card purchases are higher.

This is the reason that I use Pelican.

I have bought several small parts over the years. Nothing used/rebuilt though. They are near where I live so I use them if I need next day service so I don't have to pay next day from CA. Never had an issue with them, but good to hear the comments above on the heavy lifting stuff.
