Rough Starting

I have a 1983 911 3.0 and when it starts it runs god awful and backfires a lot. If I can keep it running long enough to warm up it runs a lot better but still lacks power when you get on the throttle. After it runs for a while it will start right up and idle normally. What should I be looking for (ordered a Bentley but don't have it yet)

It could be the Accumulator, 02 lambada relay or a vacume leak that when the engine heats up it expands and seals up the leak!

Turned out it was a combination of warm up regulator, plugs, and tuning. The main culprit was the warm up regulator (WUR). Your tech can hook up the CIS pressure check thingy when the engine is cold and learn a lot. He took the WUR apart and replaced a bit or two (you can see how technical I am) and it solved the absolutely awful cold start problem. Replacing the plugs and a re-tune from moving to the sea level east from the inter mountain west made a difference as well, but I repeat the main culprit was the WUR. Oh yeah, the CIS relay under the driver's seat was KAPUT as well.
