update after one year of owership
Well, I have had my 85 Carrera coupe for one year now and I must say it's been a great car. I bought the car with 133,000 on the clock and it now has about 138,000. In the past year it has always started right up so no problems there. I put a bit of techron in it from time to time. Car does not miss, just goes. I noticed that it has an Authority chip installed and I will not change it out because the motor is so smooth. Also, pased it's last 6 smogs with it. When I bought the car I was sure it needed a new 915 box because if 1st gear problems but I finally mastered the box after I learned from a wise man on this forum that "you don't do what you want the 915 to do, you do what the 915 wants you to do" . I just came back this morning form a 50 mile trip to the south San Diego outback and it shifted great. I just take my time and shift when it is ready. (Barrett Lake diner) I would never rebuild it now. So far I have fixed the A/C, new hood shocks, fixed drivers door, fixed speed control, replaced a panal of leather in seat, bought needed tools, changed out tranny fluid, fixed windshild and headlight washers and I just drive the thing. I love this car. Nick
