Clutch to the floor - TOB separated

Long story short - clutch pedal makes bang and rests on the floor. Driving car back home in third gear. Verify clutch cable operation and pedal cluster. Clutch cable is new - just replaced. Drop engine, separate engine - trans block.
Here is what I see

TOB on the wrong side :(

Take everything apart, clean and inspect. All looks good.

I have not done this in detail before. Is there anything I should be inspecting or be worried about? I think the reason this came apart was wrong clutch cable adjustment. I think the cable pulled to much. Does that make sense or could there be other reasons?
Also the TOB came together quite easy. This is a brand new 3-piece set I purchased (Clutch disk, pressure plate and bearing). So all the parts should be ok.
The bearing has lots of play in the pressure plate. Is that right? Can I proceed without further worries?

Its near impossible to get the snap ring out once it is properly set or at least for one person to do it.

This happened to me and I posted about it a few months ago. The bearing will move when attached to the PP, and I don't think it has anything to do with cable adjustment. But when I took mine all apart I realized that the ring gear was not properly seated to the pp, it was attached, torque down but was at an angle. User error on my part, big time!

I would replace the TO bearing and snap ring for sure.

Why? It is brand new. Just put the kit in a few weeks ago. And the bearing looks and feels ok.

If I had this problem I would probably want to check the release of the disc in the car.
The reason being if it over travels, which there really would be not reason for, it is possible that in the stack up of the PP and the disc height somaething has change from the original dimenson and or the pedal travels inordinately far which would literaly pull the diaphram fingers around the inside washer. Check for rounding on the OD of that washer as well or maybe look for a larger OD on the washers available.
Good Luck

Because it separated. And It's not expensive.

Did the guide tube on the trans get bent? Looks off-center. Could be angle of the picture. I had a brand new TB that would get stuck on the guide tube. Tube had an imperceptible kink/burr that would catch the bearing. Might want to have the tube checked at a shop for run out and perpendicularity.
