Sticky 993 clutch pedal, question
As I'm starting to put miles on my 993 project car the smooth action of the clutch pedal has deteriorated. It's become sticky and I can't press it smoothly to the floor. Effort has increased as well. I can hear a slight squeaking sound from the rear of the car as I press it, like something is dry.
Is this likely the same issue I read about on G50 transaxles where the release fork shaft bearings deteriorate? Does the construction of the 993 6 speed box look the same as the G50 and will I need the same shaft update procedure? Anyone BTDT on this issue with a 993? Thanks... |

Hi Jim,
You are feeling a dried out clutch slave pin. The needle bearings are probably also dried out. Try a new slave and slave hose first and see if that is an improvement. Of course you will also have to bleed the clutch after replacement of the slave. If the pedal is engaging much higher then its probably a worn disc as well. The 993 uses the same clutch fork and through shaft as the G50 cars. I hope this helps.
