1970 911T interior help
I am new to this forum and have found it a very helpful resource... Thank you to all the contributors.
I have started to restore my father’s 1970 911T after it sat in his garage for 20 years...He is the third owner and it is an interesting car with a few nice options including the Recaro sports seats, 5 speed gearbox, Fuchs wheels & Rear wiper... I am in the strip down and research phase...I have found allot of information on the net but I have been struggling to properly identify the interior colour..The car was Australian delivered RHD by Hamilton’s Porsche and as mentioned earlier it had the Recaro sports seat option with the leatherette basket weave insert and perforated sides. ![]() Qusetion 1 Can someone tell me if these are Brown or Beige? As I believe both colours were available? They are faded which probably doesn't help. Can you still buy the correct basket weave and Leatherette to match this? As I want the restoration to be as close to the original as I can get it... Qusetion 2 The original carpet in this car had been changed to an ugly black shag pile but during the strip down I found some Brown Purlon which I believe was an option on the T ? Can you still get the Brown Purlon? I have hunted around and can only seem to find charcoal like the trunk material? Thanks Rob. Last edited by rgv; 08-15-2011 at 01:01 PM.. |

I can't help, but I believe you can get information on the early 911s registry.

perlon is the spelling for your search - dunno re brown
unless you are into the "correctness" thing, also explore sliver knit |

Thanks for your replies... I will keep searching. Seems the brown Perlon was not a common option...
