QT over max

Should I drain off a qt,or is it OK. Whats effects to over filling? thanks..PS. I checked it properly..

If you checked it properly, engine hot, and the oil level is in the middle of the two indicator marks you will be fine. If it is near the top with the engine cold you have an overfill. If it is near the top and you are a spirited driver, you will likely spill oil from the tank into the intake on sharp corners, via the intake breather hose from the oil tank, and blow blue clouds out the exhaust as well as cover your motor with oil as oil flows out the intake and onto the engine. How do I know? Please, don't ask. If it is near the top and you drive more sedately you need do nothing but drive 500 miles or so until the oil is consumed. If you can't wait, carefully loosen the drain plug and let the appropriate amount flow out into an oil drain pan, then re-tighten the plug. If you do it carefully, you can loosen the plug just enough to let the oil dribble out without actually completely removing the drain plug. Good luck.

Thanks, drained bout a qt. from engine, did it with cold engine so I didnt burn the heck out of hand. The oil gauge was way beyond top mark, but now is in the middle..;)

Is the oil high enough in the oil tank that you can suck it out with a turkey baster?

This idea sounds less messy... :)

If I used my wifes baster to drain oil,Id prolly buy a new Porsche cause Id be divorced and living alone...hehe
