If you have a "Limited, Anniversary, Commemorative, or any other special edition " 911's released by Porsche, please post some pics and sign in. It would be nice to see how many of these rare Porshes are on the forum.

I just bought my first 911 last week (October 28, 2011). It is a 1989 Coupe Silver Anniversary Edition with approximately 83,000 miles. It is the exact year, model and color I desired for a long time.

The last pic was taken by the previous owner before I purchased it.

Great Thread!

This is my 1988 Targa "Commemorative Limited Edition"... I bought it from the original owner. It is in concourse PCA condition with 62k miles.

A quick little video I did..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYZsft-GwAg

About the Commemorative Limited Edition...
There were 300 brought to the USA. 120 coupes, 100 Cabs, and 80 Targas. The cars celebrated the 250K model of the 911.

These cars were in Diamond Blue Metallic with matching "soft touch" gathered leather. The carpets, door panels and trunk interior are in a thick plush Diamond silver. Most notably of these cars are the embroidered "F.Porsche" signature on the top of the two front seat. The wheel centers are also matching Diamond blue metallic on 15" Forged Futch wheels. I believe suspension and a short shift was also part of the CLE package. There may be other differences, I am still researching. I still have the original window sticker The CLE was a $3077.00 dollar upgrade option to the standard 911 Carrera for the 1988 year. (thats a lot of coin in 88)

The Porsche "Diamond Blue Metallic" is a deep color that changes hue in different light. It may look like bright silver, Gun metal, or even Lavender pending on the lighting conditions. On a side note..I believe the Porsche 911 Cab in the movie "Dream Machine" was Diamond Blue Metallic.

If you have any more info on any of the Editions , please add it to the thread.

I am ordering matching silver mats instead of the blue.

"I am ordering matching silver mats instead of the blue."

By all means...That way you can replace them more frenquently due to the dirt showing more prevalently against the silver mats.
Whereas the blue mats offer a nice contrast to the interior, and hide the dirt...Makes sense to me!

I find the foot wells too dark with the blue mats. Especially with the top on. None of my nice cars are ever driven in the rain and put away for winter in a heated carpeted garage, so it wont be a issue.. I had light gray mats in my S4 for a few years and they still look new. Scotchguard is the key.

Porsche's attempt of reducing weight/improving performance........my '88 Club Sport. One of 21 '88 CS's and the only red one in the US. Only 7 were imported in '89 so there a total of 28 Club Sports were brought to the US. This CS only has 27k miles on her....she's pretty much stock with exception of a SW chip, pre-muff and sport muffler.

In April of 1987 Porsche printed the “911 Carrera Club Sport Information Technik”, a thirteen page supplement that listed all of the differences; in this document, Porsche listed forty five deletions from the regular Carrera. The CS’s built in 1988 came with its own sequential VIN range similar to that of the well known ’73 911RS .
