Just another crazy AC idea
I have seen the older AC systems that have what is affectionately called the BATWING. Is there any reason why something like that cannot be connected up to the newer systems like in my 79SC ? Or at the worst..connect to the bowtie to give more cockpit air. If anyone has one of these, I would like to mock up a version and see if it will work..Sell, rent , or borrow..My idea would be to fabricate the batwing portion and use some dash vents from Danhard but need the BATWING
to proceed. |
What you need is a Kuehl Wirbelsturm Motor High Output Evap fan (30% more air). AND a Kuehl Vent. It will improve air movement in the cabin.

Brad,
Thanks for the reply...I know about Griff's vents...was trying to get MORE air than just the one vent or without paying $300 for the tri vent system. Do you have the evap fan/motor ? If so, How much do you think it helps...30% better or is this just spec ? |
I've got the Griffiths evap fan motor and can attest that it is a noticeable increase in air flow. 30%? Sure feels like it to me.

I just removed the Bow Tie and it directed cold air towards the center and back of the cab very well. Cost FREE :D
When I want extra air to me I just cup my hand on the shifter and extra air gets to me. Kinda of Ghetto, but it works for me. |
