Where can I get a seatbelt sewn?

I purchased a 4-point harness for my toddler to use in the back of my 911 (pics to follow). The rear belt is too long, so I need to cut it and have the buckle sewn back on. Where would I do that (shoe repair, upholstery shop, fabric shop...)?

Don't. Use a metal clip designed to shorten/remove slack from the belt. You can get this at any car dealer. I don't think the local shoe cobbler will want any liability issues if his repair doesn't quite cut it in an accident. In addition, you shouldn't expect a shoe-type repair to meet safety specs. If you want this to be a really neat, custom install, try approaching a seat belt manufacturer like Simpson or Diest although they may not want to mess with it either.

Good idea! I think you can get those where they sell child seats too...

Thanks!

If you can't find one, let me know. After two kids and countless car seats, I probably have one around here somewhere.

PM me or email me at steven_rosenzweig@yahoo.com

Thanks Steve. I think we've got three car seats... and in the newer seats they actually are clipped to the backs (I seem to remember). I need to dig through the garage. If I don't find them by tomorrow, I will be sure to contact you.
