Is this a 1974 Carrera RS ?

I'm out in Istanbul in Turkey for work and spotted this 911. I have never seen a Carrera RS I was wondering if its a real one.
Interior had sports seats / roll cage and some rally timing equipt. It was too dark to get pics but if I pass it again Ill jump out and grab some more pics.

Carrera RS != Carrera. Note the bumpers.

Well, no, but somewhat yes

IF it is indeed a 1974 model, AND it has a 911/83 mfi 2.7 engine (with the right vin ), then the performance is very close to the 1973 Carrera RS. BUT it would officially be a simple 1974 Carrera Rest Of World (ROW) edition.
A fun and desirable car, but not to the extent of a 73. Values seem to be in the 35-60k range depending on condition and location.

Too bad about the updated flag mirrors if it's an original 74

I thought there were some G series bodied Carreras with the 2.7mfi motor made in 1974, and a very small number made in 1976 ? The ones with MFI were the RS versions. I'm sure I read something about them in a UK car mag.

Nope- the 1974 RS was the rare (and expensive at the time) Carrera RS 3.0 of which less than 50 cars were made. A totally different beast compared to the previous RS

Do a search here for threads on that version

Might be a 74 Carrera, but no RS.

In this 2004 thread Was there a G-series 2.7 RS? one poster states
Quote:
There was no 1974 Carrera 2.7 RS

The 1974 Carrera RS was the 3.0 RS, fitted with a similar spec motor to the 73 2.8 RS motor.
I'm sure this can be cleared up , though unless the yellow car's internals are verifiable it will remain speculative.

Thanks

As always great info here on PP.
I'm shooting today but I will try to swing by it tomorrow, and snap a few interior pics. Its parked outside a kind of old school posh hotel with another vintage car. Interestingly it has Principality of Andorra plates, so it must have been a nice drive across Europe to get here.
RS or not I still like it a lot

Given the standard (albeit low mileage) '74 Carrera 2.7 is on offer for AUD$123k , I hate to think what a 3.0 RS would be worth downunder!
