How are we ranked when we use this board?
 

Hi all,

I know this is a bit stupid, but:

At the top of the thread pages, it shows the 'User's browsing this page", and I was wondering if the listed order of us is random, or are we arranged by how many posts we've made? I know it's silly, but was just wondering.

It looks to be by date registered. This opinion is based on looking at the "date Registered" in my profile, and checking a few above and below me in the list. The guy in fron registered a few days before, and the guy after me regestered a few days later. Others I looked at followed the pattern.

Huh? As soon as you log on, your name goes to the top of the list. If it's second or third on the list when you think you've just logged on, that means one or two other people connected a nanosecond or six before you did. As more people connect, your name goes deeper into the summary of names. At least that's how I assume it works...

I logged out and back in, and came back in the same place.

Oh, come on, why am I always ranked first or second as soon as I sign on? Particularly when, at this moment, I'm one space ahead of Wayne? It can't be that I'm that ancient or active.

I'm sure Tom is correct. The date of registration determines ones "rank" in the online queue.
You can verify this by checking through a few member profiles.
I have noted, however, that our host (Wayne) does not appear as the first member to be registered.

Well, I'm stunned. I think you guys are absolutely right--it goes by order of longevity as a member. My name is almost always first or second when I sign on, so I assumed it was because I'd "just logged on." I'm going to have to change my name and rejoin, to avoid the Old Fart label.
