Newbie confused

I have 1985 targa that needs a fog light lens. I cant find the correct size(plastic would be fine).Maybe its because I have a turbo look instead of standard look,Im not sure.I got wheels balanced and work sheet said it was a turbo,but its NOT.What exactly is TURBO look? I have large tail,but,it suposedly was added by the owner. Can you give me info on turbo look,and if I need lights ,lens,etc should I look under turbo instead of 3.2?? Thanks, Im trying to learn..

Take a pic of the fogs and post a WTB ad in the classifieds.

Search for M491. That was Porsche's option code. You'll find a ton of info here and if you google it. Check for a sticker under your front hood that lists all the options by number. If it is a true Turbo Look, it may have the option code their (though not always). You can also check if it has turbo brakes/trailing arms. The fog lights should be the same though.

That is a bumper from a 964. It's not from a stock '85. You'll need a 964 foglight.

Yeah . . . hate to break it to you but I'm 90%+ sure it's all one assembly. I don't think the flat part on the front w/flutes is a separate piece, and looks like ~$160 +/- is the going rate. Maybe post a WTB message to see if someone has a good used one.

Will this do? It's for the driver's side... or do you need the one in the photo? (Yours looks to be in good shape in your picture)

Thanks I sent PM..I got great price on car,and except no air,and new ignition switch,everything works..I just have to fiqure out how much work previous owner did to it. No history on paper,so Im hoping if he spent all this money on changing things that he kept it up. It has 155000 miles and very small oil leaks. MOMO stearing wheel,bumpers,nice CD player. I sent letter to california DMV to see if I could find owner because it was a repo after 2nd owner.Love Targa.just like convertible and half the trouble.

My AC doesn't work, but as I've written in other posts, I'd rather sweat in my Porsche then drive something else. At least your top comes off. I actually like the look of the 964 bumpers. The goofy accordion impact bumpers look silly. Mine is all factory except for the headlights, so I have a hard time changing anything. I certainly wouldn't have gotten my Fuchs the color that they are, but they've grown on me. Welcome to the Porsche world. It an addiction.
