Question Recovering dash

In the factory manual there is a passing reference to recovering the dash. There is no detail though. Has anyone here recovered their own dash? What material did you use (leather, vinyl, etc.)? How did you attach it (adhesive, staples, etc.)? Were there any challenges or difficulties?

Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
I did mine. I recovered it with leather, one piece, no sewing. I used contact glue, special heat resistant. It was a LONG task, gluing about half an inch at a time. The result is great, but keep in mind that this Carrera does about 3K miles a year and stays inside under a cover the rest of the time.
You'd need to find a VERY good quality leather, soft and extensible. If you have courage, you can put it on wet (better extensibility). I didn't dare.
Btw I used Half a skin, Conolly.
definitely not for the first time try though. If you don't know leather, don't even try.
