Need advice...would this work? or, help with Brazing skills in Austin?
When I was replacing my cap and rotor tonight, I noticed that the flange on the distributor was completely severed from the body of the distributor. Looks like the PO broke it and....this is weird...painted the crack over with red paint. Anyhow...
Now i'm in somewhat of a pinch....distributors don't come easy or cheap...daily driver.... Would JB weld hold to the aluminum with enough strength? (i know, I know...the glue version of duct tape and not a proper fix, but I'm in a bit of a jam to get this back together tonight) I have the standard kind of JB Weld, not any special type... I feel like this is such an idiodic question, because I assume the proper way to repair this would be to braze it back together, but I don't weld and have no alternative transport to get it done... (wife is out of town with the other car...) [sigh] Any Austin Pelicanites with mad brazing skills willing to help? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1314320758.jpg |
