your credit card gets maxed unless you have a black card in which case the half a million dollars shouldn´t hurt too much

being able to read certainly helps:

- This is a special-order OEM part and is non-returnable except for warranty replacement.

You can add 100 if you like. Nothing will happen, until you click check out....

From what I understand there are still some brand-new engines sitting on the shelf in Germany. How many is anybody's guess..

I clicked on a 3.0 engine a few years ago just out of curiosity, at the time it was around $30,000. I guess they've gone up a bit.

surely they're not keeping an assembled engine in stock for over thirty years?

Dunno if I would want one. I prefer one that has been put together recently...

You would want the tensioner update for a start , let alone that Porsche was suffering from other QC problems at the time (~1980)

From Lefingwell's "Porsche - a history of excellence" . p 201

"Schuttz heard the 911 camshaft chain tensioners failed , the major source of quality control complaints. He challenged the production engineers. "Do you know how to fix this problem?" "Oh yes," they all said "But we're not going to. This car is going out of production. Repair kits are a profit source."

Repair kits are a profit source

My question (actually my 12 year old's) - "Who would want to buy one of these engines?"
