EGR Mileage Counter Removal
I was not able to find the EGR Mileage Counter in the wiring diagrams for my '77S, but I did find the equivalent Oxygen Sensor Mileage Counter in the SC diagrams. The wiring colors match up to my unit and from the SC diagram it looks like it would be safe to simply remove the unit from the car and leave the harness disconnected (with appropriate covering of +12V connectors). Has anyone done this with the EGR Counter?
I was a little concerned if this would in any way affect the operation of the Alternator warning light as the Blue/Green wiring attaches to that lamp as well, but it appears to be just once source (of two) for that lamp. I've attached a picture of the counter below. Note that this is the electric speedo version (i.e. no cable). ![]() thanks, Frank

Same as on my 1982 911 ... just removed mine. Charging light still seems to work (at least comes on then off when starting).
Schematic has a diode in line that is now removed ... not sure what this did. |
