Will 996 seats fit into 87 Carrera? If so, need any adapters etc? TIA

Hell those 996 standard seats are not worth to be fitet in a Porsche. OK they are nice and lighter then the "real" units but made by the Lear Corporation ( wich bought Recaro ) and have the same quality like mexican made Recaros. Even BMW now has better seats  You can fabricate someting that will fit them on the old rails. @Mik The 964/993 seats will be a direct fit for 86 on 911 ( big dash vents, wide demisteropening on windscreen, Hazard & Defogger switches in centerconsole ) ) Grüsse |

Roland, what is it that makes the 86 and up models better suited for 993 seats? I bought 993 seats for my 84 and although they're not installed I tried comparing an old seat with a new one. The rails are differently shaped, but the holes are in the same distance of eachother. I'm sure they'll fit with a little fiddling.

Hello
The 85,5 944 and the 86 911 startet the new seat generation used untill the last 993. Its a simple swap everything fits without modification ( Except if you would like to use memory seats ) On earlyer cars you have to modificate the rail base/supports and fabricate the power source cables. Grüsse |
