So my friend mentions, "I have a Porsche to sell..."

So yesterday I'm talking to a friend who is a chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee and she mentions, "Oh you'll like this. I have a Porsche to sell!"...

So I ask her if she knows what model it is and she answers, "Yes! It is a 962." After a long silence I manage to say something intelligent: "What?"

The car was owned by a company and the guy who ran the company tried to sell it and hadn't listed it as an asset in his filing. She managed to discover it and track it down and they had taken it to Laguna Seca to run. The police took possession there. (The judge is very angry...)

Trying to get the chassis number to learn more about it but it sounds like it is off a fresh rebuild as it was recently purchased from a rebuilder for $1.1 million.

Garage
Rusty French was the buyer and scheduled to race it in the historics. Yep, the car was seized at the track and towed away.

It is too bad that the buyer had to get sucked into this. To make it worse his deposit is now wrapped up in the bankruptcy estate...

I am always surprised that people go into bankruptcy which is kind of "get out of jail free" card but they still think they need to get more out of it and they try to hide stuff. The debtor is now looking at a serious felony and he has pissed off a judge. Not a great position to be in.
