Maintenance Book.. When was eliminated?
The maintenance book that came with the car in early Porsche's was stopped in what year?
Does anybody know when the smaller red plastic book that shows who bought the car, delivery date, engine number, dealer stamps thru 60,000 miles and VIN number. I had the book on a 1973 911T but my 1973.5 911T ( per my uncle who bought car brand new) never had one. Thanks for comments. |

I'm not sure they ever stopped it. Every car I have owned has had one. Maybe your uncle just didn't get his for some reason.

Ok
Javadog
I also have a 1986 911 and yes it has a maintenance booklet with dealer stamps but it's the "size" of the owners manual. The one I am talking about is 1/2 the width but same height as the 1973 owners manual. But, I never thought about my 1986 having one, so I imagine they all did until the dealer stamps were done away...in the 90's? |

I'm not sure they ever went away. The newest Porsche that I have is an '08 and it has a service book. Our local dealer still stamps it...
