TTG fog light install

I purchased some Hella NOS TTG lights from a guy in Portugal but after receiving them they were found to be a true 6" diameter and not letting the hood open or close. Anyone dealt with this before and if so do you have photos of a fabrication of some sort to the grilles?

P.S. I had a 73 with the factory thru the grill fogs and the brackets used the stock mounting points on the battery box and ?? Can't recall. There were no issues with fitment but never measured them. I replaced them with 5.5" driving lights (just measured them) and they fit the same as the fogs. I know during mounting there is a certain amount of play for left or right adjustment. Perhaps some one with stock fogs can measure them to see if what you have is oversized, but I really doubt a half inch would make much difference since you should be able to lean the lights outboard by that amount.

You did t say if you have the stock mounting brackets.
