Rear deck mats with Porsche crest.
I saw a nice picture (at this website, of course) of a really nice rear deck mat with a Porsche crest embroidered logo.
Lloyds mats says they are no longer able to do Porsche crest embroidery on any items. Are there any other "gray market" companies that do custom embroidery or make similar items? |

A while back, Porsche got very aggressive about going after companies that made such items, and consequently they just aren't to be found. I was green with envy when a friend bought his '82 and one was included.

It is a shame (sort of) that things like horn crests, floor mats with the crest and other geegaws like crested door handles are not available any longer because Porsche decided to become very proprietary on the logo and crest.. I think a whole cottage industry was wiped out. I have a crested mat, bought years ago for the rear deck of my 944 and the floor mats are crested..(gee if only I had the 911 then). Then again on the positive side it does engender exclusivity. You know now when you see something with the crest on it it is (in most cases) approved by the Marque.

This can't be tht hard to have one made. They heve sewing (embroidery) machines that can do anything. Check with a graphic artist in your area and ask them if they can do it, and how much $.
Just a thought Shawn

Yeah, I also feel Porsche is rather overdoing it with their proprietary attitudes, look at the stores, plenty Ferrari stuff, nothing Porsche...
BTW, here's a picture of "our" (French) http://www.club911.net club (we've both "virtual" web-based as well as having quite regular meetings in France or Belgium, 300 web-members so far). As you can see, it would seem quite "Porsche" yet, it isn't by anyu means ! , in fact any resemblance would be due to taking an overdosis of LSD or similar, any case illegal, thoughts or associations or substances... How would the legal aspect be on that one? ![]() ![]()

My '87 has a rear mat with a big crest in the middle. The PO purchased it from an Auto Carpet supplier operating at the local Swap Meet. Suggest you check there...

I had the Porsche crest embroided on my front floor mats. The total cost, mats and embroidery was $110. Shouldn't be more than that.
