Reduce needle bounce?

Bob (or anyone else who might know),

I have a '84 3.2 Motronic engine installed in my '72T. When I installed it eight years ago, I just hooked up the '72 tach to the appropriate wire in the '84 wiring harness and it worked. However, there is fairly pronounced needle bounce. I've lived with it for eight years, but I'd really like to eliminate, or severely reduce, the needle bounce. Will this adapter improve the performance of the '72 tach used with the '84 Motronic motor?

A speedo shop once told me that these instruments, which would include tachometers, have what functions like a damper, which removes bounce and can be, so to speak, tightened. You might contact one of the places which work on these instruments to see if they think they can help you.
