Unhappy Fumes in the cockpit when I lift up but not as much as when at the Stop Light any fix

Hello Porschephiles I have an 86 Carrera ,no heather boxes just straight heathers with M&K GT 3 muffler ,this car was in rough shape when I got it...rough idling -surging- up/down, etc.
I threw a way the old heathers and installed a set of racing heathers with a M&K GT 3 muffler ,the fumes inside the car didn't stop ,I replaced the O2 sensor,MAFS and still the same , and for some reason lately is not as bad or maybe cose I got used to it...?!
Any ideas as why it would do that?

Thanks a bunch in advance !
Mark B

It's exhaust fumes and smells like unburned fuel ,I know it's coming from the exhaust but I don't know how !?
