'76 911S tail light housing

The issue is the spring in the brake light socket no longer keeps the contacts in contact with the contacts on the bulb. Any fix for the socket with the tail light housing in place? Alternatively, tried removing the housing. Can't turn the outboard screw that holds the tail light housing in place. Tried this on an '82 SC and found that it could not be turned either. Any solutions, please? Thanks
