door locks out of phase

Hi, the drivers door was changed and now there is a phasing problem with the door lock actuators. One side will lock while the other unlocks. It does not matter which door I am trying to lock. How do I get these things working together? I searched and found one thread where the poster said he had to phase his but did not say how. I have read the Bentley and can't find a reference there either. Any Ideas?
The car is an 87 930

Thanks
Clarence

Isolate the wires to one door and apply 12V.
