22mm socket wrench in tool kit

What is it for? It's obviously too small for the 24mm alt/fan nut.

22mm is used on the earlier cars alternator that had the fine threads.

Looks like the wheel lug wrench, only it's 22mm.

I'm guessing one of the PO replaced the original SC one with one from an earlier car then.

An 80 would still have the early alternator until it was updated to the Paris-Rhone which was about 82 the PR became standard.

This must be the case then. There's no external VR where there should be one so PO must have replaced the early alternator with the later internal VR type. Thanks for the info!
