probably the project has already been sold in total discretion and all news about it are stopped to keep secrecy...(?)

These things just take time. Roar has stated before that he's got many projects (house, family, health) as priority before the 959. I'm also guessing that he's not "living"on this board the way many of us do...

It's 2018, what's the status of this epic (re)build?

I also wonder how much helicopter pilots make ;-)

Rebuilding the 959

Hi Guys.
I do understand the frustration from you guys, and it has not been posted much the last few years. What would you like pictures off? A 959 piled up in a garage?
I honestly haven't had time to more than a few glances at it for the last few years and it will not have focus before i find such time.
I can ask Wayne to close down this thread if you all want me to, alternatively you all wait until i find that time that will give me the joy to finish the car. As you have read in the introduction, I'm not a regular 959 owner, this is still just a car to me, hence family house and other things is prioritized.
When it comes to what a helicopter pilot makes? I quite do not see the relevance of the question? Do i ask you guys such questions?

Thanks,
Roar

I think the salary question was more of a joke.... Sarcasm as it is called in USA.= 959 Porsche how much does a Helo Pilot make...

I agree, re the salary issue- sarcasm. I really love your build and look forward to seeing it move along whenever you get to it. Family first. Cheers.

There's one for sale for $1.25M in Panorama. Perhaps that might motivate you?

Nothing wrong with the motivation mr, more the time constraint which is the issue....
And again, I did not start this project to make $. A lot of people seems to focus on that...
when I bought the wreck you could buy desent 959 for about 250í$...
Prices on the Porscheís has unfortunately destroyed some of the joy of having a Porsche. Quite so many, me included are afraid of using the cars as they were intended due risk of value loss. Iím quite certain that Ferdinand started the Porsche business out of passion more than anything else...
The reason Iím rebuilding the 959, as mentioned a few times already is exactly that.
When I saw the wreck for sale I looked upon it as way beyond reach, and it was, but I knew that this was the only chance I had to ever be able to buy one..
I have tried to buy a few 959 bits from people that have them for sale, as Iím still missing bits and pieces as you probably understand.
The prejudice im meeting,is that all people owning a 959 have unlimited cash-hence pay up. so when questions about what helicopter pilots earn I kind of got the same feeling...

Anyway, as soon as Iím finished with house build, I will continue the 959 project!!

Br,
Roar

Some of us live vicariously through these automotive journeys like your 959 project. No one is truly giving you a hard time, just anxious for updates. It'll happen, when it happens. Family and livelihood first.
