Let me translate for my Scandinavian brother.

"Super cool project, go for it!..." Or something like that

I truly admire the mixture of courage and madness necessary to undertake this epic project. I hope you will be successful in getting this great car back on the road.

Rebuilding a 959

Hi. Sorry that I have not posted that much lately, have not had time to work on it that much.
Have brought a few parts to work which I plan to fix while I'm away. Will post a few pics tomorrow. It's the hinges for the rear decklid. They are out of alru, but cost no less than 2000 dollars a piece I think it was when I checked. They will be fixed. Not that bent out of shape.

Roar

Anybody that have pictures of a hinge with the dimension ob the curve are more than welcome to post.

Not sure if this will help, my skills as a photographer are close to negligible. I would love to be able to help with your project.

Hmm, is this a rust-spot which I see before me?

Thanks for the pick.
Would you be able to take one straight onto it from the back. Trying to find out if the tube is straight from the attachment rod or not. On is straight and one is twisted. I think they are supposed to be straight.
Would is somehow be possible to measure the bow? The one that is not straight is also more bent than the other. Will post a few pics in two minute.

On the first picture I think the hinge to the right is the one that is most correct.
The one to the left looks like it has been bent to much....

Rebuilding the 959

Hi Guys.
I`m sorry I have not been so active on the forum and neither posted pics of the progress.

The car is now on the jig for straightening and after a trip to Germany, a few parts ordered from Wayne(Pelican) and some in England(locally) where the car is being jigged i pretty much have the main components to get it together.
I really need somebody that can help me with a links to som e very good people that can make me an exhaust?(muffler) That person need to have made something like that before or have one available to duplicate.

Wayne has been very helpful and huge thanks to him for all his help on the info side on the project so far
As soon as I get some pics form when it is on the jig I will post.

At the moment I`m working on the exhaust manifold and trying to adjust the tube that connects with the tube that goes between the turbos. It`s a little bit bent, and it needs to be warmed up and bent back in place. The next is putting the new fan house in place as soon as that is painted.
Anybody that has any idea about an-oxidation? Somebody told me that was the way to go for the magnesium.

I will keep you all posted.

Roar

EPIC REBUILD OF AN EPIC CAR.

I salute you! I can barely keep my 928 on the road and my 914 has been a non-running project longer than my second grade daughter has been alive.

Wow Roar. I think there are a lot of us that wish we could get our hands dirty on that project. Good luck, and no pressure we are all watching.

Rebuilding the 959

Hi guys.
If anybody out there have any pictures off the engine from behind that have the details with the right hand turbo and the tube between the right and left manifold that would have been very much appreciated. Just want to check a little on my right hand manifold to compare.
