newly fully restored 911 - now dead

Hey Pelicans, looking for some ideas what to check, what problem my car could have. Running out of ideas myself.

Thats the situation: Fully restored 911 from 1977 - everything is new, really, anything. Have put the car together, cranked, and it started at the first attempt. Everything was working. Disconnected the battery. Next time, about 4 weeks later I had to change the steering column bearings (somehow forgot to do this while the car was apart - don't ask why - no answer).

Then I started to start the car again - connected the battery - nothing. I couldnt believe it. Measured the voltage, battery is brand new, everything is alright. Then checked really everything, nothing worked but two things: the hazard and the clock. Nothing else, no lights on the gauges, no pump, no starter - really nothing but the hazard lights and the clock.

Any idea what to check? I am really running out of ideas. I am not a genius when it comes to electrics - I've just put together all the new parts and it worked just fine. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Grounds? Plugs thru the cowl from the ignition switch?

Since you just took apart the steering column, you almost certainly disturbed or disconnected something in that process.

Check the plug going to the ignition switch first. I've seen that one fall off before.

First of all, thank you all for your replies. Checked the three plugs behind the ignition switch and guess what - two of the three fell out. You guys are geniuses! Thank you so much!
