Strange G50 Problem--Help Needed
Well...
I certainly hadn't hoped to make this post. I recently replaced my street SC with a 993. I've had very little chance to drive the new car over the last month as the roads have been snowy and then gravely. So, today was a relatively nice day and I, having a few errands to run, I took out the 993. After a nice drive I was almost home when the car acted as if the clutch was depressed, only it wasn't. By this I mean that I could freely shift between gears without any grinding and the car had no forward motion. Picture being able to sit, with the car parked, and move the gearshift lever from gear to gear without pushing the clutch in. My first thought was that an axle shaft had become unbolted but they are both tight. It feels like the linkage is OK and sounds/feels like the actual gears are being selected. Also, the clutch (hydraulic) springs back up as it should. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jess |
Sounds like the slave cylinder on the trans. is not allowing the clutch to engage (the pushrod is sticking). Meaning, when you depressed the clutch and then released it, the system is acting as if the clutch is still depressed. I vaguely remember reading a post about this on Rennlist 964 or 993 site. Not entirely sure, but thought i'd give you someplace to start.
