17 inch Turbo Twists on a 70-80's 911???
Hello,
I have a 914 which I am planning to install a SC or Carrera front end on and was wondering if I could fit 17" Turbo Twists or something of that nature on it. I have seen sets of these new wheels, replicas of course, in sizes 17x7 and 17x9 go for $600 compared to the $1000 I will have to pay for 16x8 and 16x9 Fuchs to have to fill out my 916 flares. Ohh and NO I do not like the BBS look so they are not an option!! Thanks, Ron PS I have a set of 15x8 Pristine Alloy color BBS rims with worn out tires if anyone is interested!

That's two different wheels you are talking about.
Original REAL 17 inch twists have a different offset than the the 80s 911 wheel that will fit the 914. They will need spacers to move them out so that they will not hit the swing arms in the rear and the wheel wells up front. Usually 1 inch spacers up front and 2 in the rear. 7s and 9s will fit with flares with 225s and 245 tires. The 17 inch twist copies.....are USUALLY made for early 911s that want the look. Tirerack sells them. THOSE will fit a flared 914 without spacers. |
