Question Boring 911 cylinders ?

Hi,

I've been following some interesting posts on various message boards regarding boring out 911 cylinders, Nikasil re-plating, ceramic coating Piston crowns & dry film lubrication of piston skirts.

Any of you Aussie listers out there know of any reputable Machinists in Australia who have experience performing the above, on 911 cylinders?

This might be something I'd be interesting in attempting at a later stage on my turbo Carrera - boring the 95mm cylinders out to 98mm, Nikasil coating and slipping in some Mahle 3.4L 7.5:1 pistons. I've been told that this is what Mahle do anyway for their 98mm and 100mm P&C upgrades - Bore out base 95mm cylinders.

Also learnt that '87 Carrera's typically came with Kohlbenschmidt cast P&C's, which aren't very reliable once bored out. If they're Mahle's, they can be done quite easily whilst maintaining reliability (since that's what Mahle do anyway).

Input appreciated.
