Grill on Floor between back seats
This grill which provides access to the transmission linkage was all blocked/covered (underside) with a cork like material when I removed it during my restoration.
Should it be open or is there a reason it was blocked/covered ? TIA. Jim |

I guess just to keep garbage from falling in there...otherwise...dunno? On later cars there was no grill, just a plate.

Given I do not have an auxilliary heater, I gues it explains why the piece was covered up. Thanks.

Jim,
Make sure that the rubber bellows around the shifting rod is secure and in good condition. Leaving the grill off does bring a bit of motor/road noise into the interior as well. Joe
