Hi there,
The 911 coupe is notorious for door draft and wind noise. My car has a late style plastic door frame plug to prevent wind noise. It is installed with a blind rivet. The plastic plug is broken and I want to install a new one. How can I remove the blind rivet? I know I can drill them out, but I don't want the metal particles fall in the door (glass) frame, where I can't remove them. Is there another way? Thanks, - Kees. ![]() |

I don't know exactly what piece you are talking about but most of the swarf coming off the drill bit can be picked up by using a vaccumm as you are drilling. As far as the rivet body that is inside the hole you will probably have to open up the door to get it out.
