New Alternator Time - upgrade to 3.6 system?
 

So... non-charging problem seems to be the origin of my electrical woes.

How hard is it to update the fan and alternator altogether to the 3.6 fan + alternator instead of just replacing my current alternator? I haven't heard of this being done much...

Impossible. 3,6 housing and alternator completely incompatible with pre-964.

Can be done but you would have to do a complete 3.6 transplant. But seriously I wanted to get rid of my 3.6 curved fan and replace with my older fan and after putting them side by side discovered that they are completely two differant animals.
