Porsche posters, etc
I'd like to dress up my garage a little more (since I spend a lot of time there) and am looking for suggestions from this wild group.
I currently have a 3x5 Porsche flag and would like to add some posters, signs, etc. I looked on Ebay and didn't have much luck. If anyone has any decorative suggestions and/or web sites to look at, please post them. Thanks

Mark,
Pelican and the other parts suppliers have a good selection of Porsche posters. Also have seen some good ones on Ebay. Everyone has to have a copy of "LeMans" on the wall somewhere in the garage IMHO! Joe

Are you entering "poster" or "posters" on eBay? eBay is case specific. If you enter the singular there should be around 250 hits. Just know what you're bidding on. This kind of stuff can easily sell for more than retail.

Mark,
Lee is really right on this. I have seen posters on Ebay go for lots more than you could buy them direct from Pelican or others quite often. Take a look here first: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/artwork.htm http://www.vpracing.com/ http://www.autotrend.com/porschelist.html http://www.autotrend.com/porsche.html http://dumans24.netfirms.com/ http://www.rensport.com/porsche/artwork/posters/1976.html http://www.posterconnection.com/gallery/porsche.htm This should give you a bit of an idea what is out there. More than enough to wallpaper your garage! Just wish I could afford one of each! Joe

About an hour ago I received a shipment of 996 posters I ordered when I was the Porsche factory in Jan. and had forgotten about. Some of them I have since bought on eBay, thinking these factory posters were never gonna arrive. So, once I get them photographed, I'll probably have them on eBay. They're all 30x40" and of 996's, but they're nothing like I've seen on eBay before. Send me an email if you'd like more details.

I've bought a ton of stuff from here:
http://www.parc.de They're cheap and of good quality. Some classic posters there as well. Some are Porsche original posters, some are Parc recreations. I had some LeMans and factory posters pressed / glued onto some board and framed. They look fantastic. - Eric

BigB - thanks for the link. Have seen these, but I'm really looking for the real McCoy - 3x5 logo flag in factory colors.
Any one still selling these, or have the Porsche logo lawyers closed that down??

My experience with e-bay is that it takes time to find what you are looking for but it is definately out there.
I've set up bookmarks to search with and I check every couple of days to see if anything new has popped up in my price range. Be specific in your search and don't hesitate to try a few mis-spellings b/c there are lots of people out there who don't know how to spell. Good luck and have fun!

The places I am going to use to satisfy my porsche print needs are
http://www.drivewerks.com (a pelican parts group, I saw the add in Road and Track and was instantly drawn to it for some reason) also this place, http://www.autotrend.com/porschelist.html Good luck. Nathan

I can (enthusiastically) endorse VP Racing.
The amount of genuine Porsche posters in their stock is almost unbelievable. Excellent folks to deal with. No garbage. Not cheap. http://www.vpracing.com/

Doug, you're right, great poster source. I'm amazed at what they have. I got this one in the 70's when nobody cared about them. It looks great on my office wall at work.

This thread reminded me that I've got bunches of Porsche posters rolled up in my gargage. I'd like to put a few of them up in the garage.
Does anyone know of a very cheap and easy way to hang them (ie NOT thumbtacks, tape, etc). The cost of framing is simply outrageous. I bought a Jeff Dorgay print off eBay recently. It was under "Porche Print". This thing retails for $150 and I paid $15. BUT, I turned right around and spent $250 to get if mounted, double matted, and framed with no-glare glass. And that was with a coupon from the framing place! Jeff Dorgay has some really unique Porsche prints. I understand he can be commissioned to create an art print of your car. Probably not cheap though. His stuff can be seen at: http://www.wallwerks.com Here's what I see when I wake up to every morning... well that is AFTER I see my wife! ![]()
