Torque spec for the intake runner nuts?

I have my CIS re-installed on the engine and am about to bolt it down. Can anyone tell me the torque specs on the 2 nuts on each intake runner? I couldn't readily find it in the bentley or 101 projects book. Thanks!

HWM,

Not familiar with an intake runner do you have a pic?

Since I'm not sure 100% the one you referring too... I wont give you the number in case we are not taking about the same.

But if its the one I'm thinking, check one of those page (they both give the same torque value):

Bentley 911SC page 102-39

Bentley 911 Carrera page 102-38

Is it me or is almost any fitment connected to the engine block is 18ft/lbs

It's not you. 18 ft-lbs is the normal spec for 8mm bolts/studs. Don't try it with 6mm fitments to the engine CASE.

The six aluminum tubes that run from the CIS airbox to the intake valves. They house the fuel injectors. I call them intake runners. I don't know what their technical term is.... They're bolted to the engine with 2 nuts each.

Intake Manifold

25 Nm (18 ft-lb) as found in Bentley 911SC page 102-39

i know this threat is old but is there a particular sequence to follow? Work inside to out side?

JJ 911SC 04-23-2012 06:36 PM

Not that old...

Both side are independent from each other so you are left for 6 nuts in 2 rows on each side.

So I did front, rear and middle in torque steps; a run at 10, 15 and 18 ft-lb.

There are two nuts per runner. No special sequence but snug both nuts before final torquing.
